CRAB MEAT DIP
Servings: 8
Ingredients
- 1 lb lump crab meat, drained (I prefer Phillip’s or Costco brand)
- 8 oz Philadelphia cream cheese
- 1 small red onion, minced
- 2 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning, or to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Combine cream cheese, diced onion and Old Bay Seasoning. Mix well.
- Gently fold in the lump crab meat. You want the crab meat to be chunky, not minced and mushy.
- Bake for about 30 minutes, or until bubbly hot.
- Serve with crackers or hot pita bread points.
HOT TIP: You really want to like your friends and family if you make this dip. The pound of crab meat will run you around $22. You can use a cheap grocery store brand but it won’t be as good. I save this dip for special occasions, like Christmas or a really good friend’s birthday party. If I make it for you, it means you’re special.
This recipe is a well-loved family original. Enjoy!
